The Whole Family Matters: Support After a Child’s Hospital Stay

Join us for a noon webinar on September 9 to learn how traumatic stress can impact families following a child’s hospital stay and discover the resources, support, and strategies available for parents, caregivers, and providers.

Presented by Alongside Network, a Minnesota-based national nonprofit, this session will highlight how the organization supports families of children who have experienced a life-threatening illness or injury. Alongside believes that caring for children means caring for the whole family, offering wellbeing groups, family support, and partnerships with hospitals and healthcare providers to ensure families have connection and resources throughout their healthcare journey.

Alongside Network and Family Voices of Minnesota are excited to collaborate on this opportunity to connect our communities, share knowledge, and strengthen support for families and caregivers.

Looking for ongoing support?

If this topic feels familiar to your family, you may also be interested in Wellbeing Groups for parents and caregivers, offered by Alongside Network in partnership with Family Voices of Minnesota. These free, six-week groups meet on Zoom and provide a supportive space to connect with other parents, validate shared experiences, and build coping skills.

Groups are available for parents and caregivers of children with medical complexity and for those whose children have experienced an acute illness or injury. Participants are asked to commit to attending all six sessions.
