Join other parents for this interactive, and supportive learning group. Parents of children with extra needs often struggle to prioritize their own needs for rest, social time, hobbies and other forms of self and community care. Get encouragement, ideas, and hands-on experience using CtLC concepts and tools to enhance your own well-being and mental health.
Group Leader - Jamie O’Conner, a mother of two, including a 14-year-old with a rare genetic condition, is the Outreach Coordinator for Family Voices of MN. A Charting the LifeCourse Ambassador since 2020 and a Presenter & Good Life Group Facilitator since 2022, she applies person-centered planning both personally and professionally. Jamie believes families are the experts in their own lives, and CtLC empowers them to dream with purpose and voice their choices.
Who are these for? Minnesotans who are in a parent-role to a child (any age) who has any type of disability, mental health or special health care need.
There is no cost for parents to attend.

What if I've never heard of Charting the LifeCourse? You do not need to have any experience with Charting the LifeCourse to attend this course. You are the expert on your child and family. Our Virtual Support Group allows parents and caregivers across Minnesota to connect in a safe and supportive atmosphere to discuss the joys and challenges of raising a child with special healthcare needs. Hosted by Jamie O'Conner, Outreach Coordinator for Family Voices of MN and mom to two kiddos. Her daughter was born with a rare genetic condition. As a parent, Jamie has experience navigating healthcare and education systems, divorce and single parenting, a move to MN from out of state and the general hectic world of parenting.
The vision of this group is to offer a safe and sacred space of sharing the emotional journey of parenting a child who has special health care needs or a disability.
